NC Wildlife for Kids - Discover Nature Up Close and Personal

Table '' doesn't exist

Possumwood Acres is a working wildlife sanctuary that takes in and cares for hundreds of injured and orphaned wild animals and birds throughout the year. In addition, we display many different types of hawks and owls, opossums, and birds that cannot be released but serve as animal ambassadors that are used in wildlife education programs. Children have the opportunity to view them up close and learn about the amazing wildlife that inhabit our coastal regions. The history for each species is explained as well as how children can help preserve their natural habitats. Tours for the family can be scheduled by calling 910-326-6432 and wildlife programs can be arranged by emailing
