Sledge\, a Marine and World War II veteran whose legacy continues to inspire. The mission of the Sledgehammer Beach Run is simple yet powerful: to honor the memory of Sledgehammer and all combat veterans. \nDr. Sledge\, a lifelong Marine\, spent his postwar years reflecting on the sacrifices and experiences of those who served alongside him. In his honor\, a portion of race proceeds supports Semper Fi & America’s Fund\, which provides assistance to wounded\, ill\, and injured service members and their families. \nAdd this bucket-list race to your calendar and run with purpose as you honor heroes\, support a worthy cause\, and take on the challenge of the Sledgehammer Beach Run. \nCourse Information \nHalf marathon\, 10k & 5k course are all on the beach \n**Half marathon cut off time is 4 hours. Anyone left on the course after the fourth hour will be picked up by a staff member and will be disqualified for awards.

DESCRIPTION:Hikes are a series of therapeutic events that are designed to PREVENT veteran suicide by bringing veterans together using humor and camaraderie to improve mental health. In order to create and maintain this environment of support and understanding\, civilians are not allowed to hike – no strollers\, baby backpacks\, or minor volunteers.\n\nTHIS IS NOT AN ATHLETIC EVENT: The hikes are between 6-12 miles\, paced at 2-3 miles per hour. There are frequent stops for fellowship and food/beverages\, and rucks\, weight\, and boots are optional.\n\nWHAT TO BRING\nSILKIES AND SHIRTS – Silkies are the OFFICIAL HIKE UNIFORM (although not required) and the MINIMUM lower body coverage\, and shirts are required at many of our stops.\nSUNBLOCK AND HEADGEAR\nPHOTO ID\nCASH\nHYDRATION\nEYE PRO\nFLAGS – Patriotic\, unit\, branch\,(NO political or religious flags)\nEXTRA SOCKS\nTRANSPORTATION – plan for a ride if you plan to drink

SUMMARY:Frogman 3D Bowhunters Challenge & 5k Trail
DESCRIPTION:Trail Run- A wooded trail run through the property known as the “400-acres.” The trail is predominantly flat and should be fun for all. This is a course created especially for Frogman.  Medals awarded to the top-overall male and female\, top-overall male and female masters\, and first place in each age division. Everyone crossing the finish line receives a finisher medal. Note: our insurance doesn’t allow dogs at our running events unless they’re a service dog. \nBowhunters Challenge- The Frogman Bowhunter Challenge is not your average 3D shoot it’s a full-day archery adventure built to challenge and inspire bowhunters of every skill level. Modeled after events like Total Archery Challenge\, this course features rugged terrain\, lifelike 3D targets\, and shot opportunities that mimic real-world hunting scenarios from odd angles and long distances to tight gaps and tricky setups. \n  \nFrogman was created by The Campbell Family in 2012 to honor the wish of their beloved SOC (SEAL) Christopher Campbell. Chris lost his life during Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan when a CH-47 Chinook helicopter\, call sign Extortion 17\, in which he and 30 others Americans were riding\, was shot down on August 6\, 2011.  The event honors his final wish to support combat wounded veterans\, his love for hunting\, especially bow hunting\, and the outdoors.
