The holiday season is always an enchanting time of year in Onslow County, with visiting families and off-season beach lovers from all over the United States traveling in our communities to be with loved ones while enjoying the cooler weather and outdoorsy and relaxed vibe. In lieu of the much-beloved Annual Holiday Christmas Parade, the Jacksonville·Onslow Chamber of Commerce and Marine Federal Credit Union are partnering up for a 2020 Holiday Decorating Contest! The public is invited to vote for the BEST decorated local Onslow County business! Starting on December 2nd, and as you are out and about in Onslow County, you are invited to place your vote. Mike’s Farm Festival of Lights & Holiday Events
What would Christmas in Onslow County be without a trip to Mike’s Farm? Their guest’s safety has always been their number one priority, and they are now requiring masks for all patrons unless you are unable to wear one due to a medical condition. With the Covid-19 safety restrictions, their light show hayride will continue as planned just at 30% capacity. They plan to run more wagons more frequently to help make up for the reduced capacity. You can still come for the hayride any night of the week without a reservation. The cost is $10 for ages 5 and older. Tickets can be purchased upon arrival.
Their restaurant is taking reservations only up until December 23rd. Also, be sure to visit the NC Products Barn while you are there!.

Humphrey Farm – Christmas Market at the Farm
Enjoy all of the sites and sounds and tastes of Christmas. The Farm is decorated in all its glory, plus we have an all-new SANTA HOUSE. Santa and Mrs. Clause will be on-site from 4 pm to 7 pm. Join us for an interactive drive-through event with hot cocoa, cookies, trivia, take-home crafts, socially distanced photos with Santa, and a Christmas Cheer donation drop off!

RP Studios – Winter Wonderland Experience
Create new memories with your family and friends this year. With Covid canceling so many holiday traditions, we created one that we hope will become a new tradition in Jacksonville! Come and enjoy the sites, smells, and sounds of Christmas! RP Studios will be transformed into several beautiful themed sets for you and your family to walk in and take pictures. The bells will chime and you will enter into another scenic area where you will be photographed by a professional photographer and have a digital portrait of your time with us. As you exit our Winter Wonderland you will be given a bag of love with goodies from our local small businesses. We are practicing Covid safety precautions for your personal safety during this event. Christmas Town at ELJ Farms
ELJ Farms offers a family-friendly, animated Christmas light experience is something you do not want to miss! Starting at Swingin’ Things, you will be able to purchase tickets for you and your family to drive through a myriad of Christmas lights, giant toy soldiers, and more! Depending on the state mandates, they offer two ways of enjoying the lights:
The first way is by tractor ride! We posted all of our new wagons on social media and cannot wait to put them to use!
The second way to view the lights is from the comfort of your OWN car or truck! (no buses, please) Yes, moms and dads, this means you don’t have to worry about pulling kids in and out of car seats. This also allows for minimal interaction and social distancing! Sounds like a win for everyone! More information can be found on the ELJ Farms Website.

Wreaths Across America
REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
On December 19, 2020, Wreaths Across America will be at Coastal State Veteran’s Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans through the laying of Remembrance wreaths on the graves of our country’s fallen heroes and the act of saying the name of each and every veteran aloud. Due to the Covid 19 restrictions, there will not be a ceremony, however, wreaths will still be laid.
