Mike’s Farm

Among the many delicious reasons to visit Mike’s Farm, one of the best is for a slice of their famous chocolate layer cake.  Stop by the bakery in the afternoon while the ovens are hot!  There is simply no way to describe the sweet sugary aroma that wafts through the air!  Many of the ladies you’ll see have been baking cookies, pies, cakes, apple jacks and lots more for many years.  They know their stuff and you will love it!

Ducks Grille and Bar

Duck’s Grille and Bar is essentially an institution in Jacksonville, a real foodie favorite and a popular gathering spot for the locals in the area.  Highly recommended is their selection of tapas on Tuesdays.  It’s a fun night to stop in for a bite to eat and some libations.  The food is…always fresh.  Always delicious.  They also have a very good wine selection and their knowledgable staff will kindly recommend a pairing for you to go with your meal.

Kettle Diner

Honest to goodness, the Kettle Diner is one of the best places to have breakfast (or lunch, or dinner) in Onslow County.  It’s not uncommon to see a large group of Marines enjoying a meal together here.  Located in Jacksonville, this place feels like walking back in time…and eating in a diner from the 1950s.  You’ll find a great counter with barstools to eat if you are by yourself or with a friend, as well as large tables, so bring the family and enjoy it!   Done with breakfast?  Our friends from NC Tripping also have the inside scoop on 21 things to do in Jacksonville on their blog, so check it out!

Rick’s Restaurant & Bar

You can’t beat a good surf and turf dinner at Rick’s Restaurant & Bar in Sneads Ferry.  Ricks has a large menu with a lot of variety and you’ll want to come back!  Many locals and visitors at North Topsail Beach are regulars and enjoy a casual and relaxed atmosphere.   Local tip:  Don’t miss checking out their dessert menu!

Saltwater Grill

A signature dish named, “Angels on Horseback”…sounds amazing, right?  It’s also Saltwater Grill’s most popular entree!  Tiger shrimp and scallops, wrapped in applewood smoked bacon, topped with fresh crabmeat served over risotto and asparagus and topped with a creamy lobster sauce.  Wow!  Are you hungry yet?  Enjoy the ambiance of waterfront dining in Swansboro at one of their finest restaurants.
