The Sturgeon City Environmental Education Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to championing environmental and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) education. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of leaders and environmental stewards by offering a wide array of engaging programs and events. Our spacious 11,000 square foot center provides a variety of flexible spaces to suit your needs. The 1,700 square foot pre-function space is perfect for cocktail hours or pre-event gatherings, while the expansive 5,400 square foot main room can be divided into three smaller, more intimate spaces for customizable event configurations. A well-equipped, warm-only prep catering kitchen supports your chosen caterer, and we also offer convenient amenities such as WiFi access, full audio-visual capabilities, and on-site bar services to ensure a seamless and unforgettable event. Our Walking Tour

Visitors are invited to explore the Sturgeon City Environmental Education Center’s six-acre site and the surrounding natural area with our walking tour. This self-guided tour features a series of boardwalks that wind through the restored wetlands and offer scenic views of Wilson Bay. Educational markers along the route tell the story of Sturgeon City’s history and highlight the diverse plant and animal life of the New River and coastal wetlands.
