2019 Hospitality Person of the Year

Jessica Eckart - Hampton Inn & Suites in Jacksonville, NC

As a graduate of Texas A&M University 2011 with a degree in Business with minors in Tourism Resource Management & Horticulture, she began her hospitality career as a Convention Sales Admin with Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas in 2012. From here, she moved oversees with her husband from 2014-2017 working with the Department of State in both Finland and Vietnam. This gave her the opportunity to work logistics/ hotel team lead for 2 Presidential visits, 2 Secretary of State visits and multiple visits from members of Congress & the Senate.

As a world traveler, we are very glad that she landed in Jacksonville in 2017 where she started working at Hampton Inn & Suites as their Sales Coordinator in May 2018, Then, as of October 2019, she was promoted to Sales Manager. Her attention to detail and work ethic has earned her the praise of past and present employers and co-workers alike.  In this past year alone, she has received three awards for skills and positive attitude. Outside of work, she loves to cook, travel with family, tour wineries and, from an early age, has a fondness of crème brulee.
